An art show by Carey Smith

Original work and installations featuring mixed media, poetry,
archetypal themes, and found objects from nature

During the summers of 2006 and 2007, the classroom building at the Body Therapy Institute was transformed into a gallery space for an art show by co-director Carey Smith. Each of these multi-faceted events was attended by hundreds of people.

A 52-page full color book has been published that contains all the images and writings from the show. In addition, fine art reproductions of selected works are available for purchase in limited editions. Please see the downloadable order forms at the bottom of this page.

		The show featured original mixed media works by Carey. They were displayed on tryptych panels along with her writings on archetypal themes, notes on the creation of each piece, poetry, and installations of found objects from nature. Around the room were hung enlarged giclée prints of many of her pieces, which added to the overall impact.
		Carey's intention was to "offer this show for the sake of healing in the world through creative action" Many of those who attended shared that the experience of the show within the environment at South Wind Farm was both moving and inspiring.
		This blending of images, words and nature was also conveyed to all who attended the show through an opportunity to create their own art "offerings" with provided materials. People could take home their own art creations, or hang them in the tree grove outside the classroom.
		BTI students provided seated massage sessions - adding to the enjoyment of those at the art show.
