September 9-11, 2015 | Wednesday-Friday, 9:30am-5:30pm | 21 CE contact hours | $450

Joanna Haymore treatmentIn this fast-paced and changing world, most of us experience overload as our nervous systems struggle for a healthy equilibrium. As a result, new resources are required to alleviate the levels of trauma, illness, or injury that frequently bring people to our practices seeking solutions they have yet to find.

Developmental Touch is an approach that offers the hands-on therapist easily accessible recovery options through the dynamics of Cellular Breathing and the earliest movements patterns found in the pre-vertebral body.

This highly experiential, somatically-based training provides a working foundation in the developmental anatomy of the body’s primary cellular layers. Therapists will learn to effectively recognize sensations that indicate blockages, densities and suspensions that disrupt self-soothing communication between these layers of our being.

We will identify and track our own biological process of cellular breathing and work with practical applications for more resilient nervous systems using this approach.

This workshop will enable you to gain experiential understanding and hands-on practice with Developmental Touch using:

  • Yield and Push movement dynamics as a treatment modality
  • Cellular Breathing as an Embodied Wellness Practice
  • Developmental anatomy of the three primary cellular layers and their roles in recovery for the nervous system.
  • Three Pre-Vertebral Body Patterns and their roles in recovery for the nervous system
  • Observation and treatment for the Overloaded Nervous System
  • Observation and support for the Resilient Nervous System

Massage Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and somatically-based Psychotherapists and Physical Therapists will discover that this training is useful as a treatment modality and as an embodied Wellness Practice.

Developmental Touch is indebted to Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen and Body-Mind Centering® for the underlying principles of this work.
